Enhanced Lists

A standard select list contains record ID's for a single file. Consequently, that list can only be used for one file at a time. Many years ago, it became apparent that if more flexibility in searching was needed, lists had to contain more information. Thus was born the enhanced list.

The DMCons enhanced list contains the filename as well as the record name, stored as permanent records in a special list file. Because of this, the mvToolbox can be much more powerful.

• Lists are easily created
• Lists do not need to be continually re-created as they are records
• Multiple files can be searched simultaneously
• Search results can be fed back into new searches, progressively narrrowing search scope
• Lists can be combined and segmented using boolean operations
• Lists as data can be edited
• Lists can be used as part of the research cycle
