The way to do this may be somewhere in your documentation, but I haven't found it.

case 1: I want to open in VGER, two or more programs from LIST.EDIT?
case 2: I have two or more programs open in VGER. How do I save pointers to them so I can open them all at once later on?

Thanks

John,

Case 1: To open multiple programs in VGER, there are several ways.
1) In LIST.EDIT simply enter the line numbers of the programs you want to edit (up to 6) separated by a space.
2) If the programs are in different files but have the same name.

  • a) Put the cursor on one or the other, and type the equal sign (=). That will open all programs in an enhanced list that have the same name.

  • b) If the R-switch on line zero in LIST.EDIT is set to "R2", clicking on either program will bring up all like-named programs in VGER.
  • Case 2: To create an enhanced list while in VGER using the open windows as the source, I have written you a new command, CELIST, short for Create Enhanced List. It will use the windows that are open as the source to create an enhanced list. The syntax is CELIST [listname]. If you do not supply the list name in the command line, you will be prompted for it. If the list already exists, it will be added to. Then, if you want to go back to edit them all at once, you just revert to Case 1 line 1 above.

Put the attached command, CELIST, in VGERBP and compile it. You are good to go.
