I was doing a SRCH search and ran into a problem.

Here is what I got (once I was able to actually repeat the problem).

Case Sensitive compares or Exact matches? (N/Y/U/G/-X/Q) Y
Search Libs this number of lines only

Search only Cataloged programs (N/Y/G/X/U) N

Search strings (separated by "|" or "&",G/X/U)
CMD

Exclusion strings (separated by "|",G/X/U)
MODULE TYPE:          CMD

Name of the LPR list? (G/X/U) CMD

Beginning Scan (1.0) VGERBP VGER$QL.FILE.DELETES[B25] in program "VGER$SRCH", Program 'VGER$TYPE:' has not been cataloged.

I tried a few times and was unable to reproduce the problem. I was lucky enough to come with some combination that caused it again so that I could capture this. I have done a search for VGER$TYPE and can not find it. Any ideas?

How can I exclude the string MODULE TYPE:          CMD ?

Can you search/exclude a string that has spaces in it - for example - if I had done
DESCRIPTION:           TEST
would that have worked?

The word MODULE in the Exclusion strings line (MODULE TYPE:          CMD) is the indicator that an exclusion exit is being called for. SRCH is looking for the module named "TYPE:".

If you had excluded "TYPE:          CMD" then it would have worked.

You can include spaces in the include or exclude strings to force better matching. Thanks for the report. That potential error has been eliminated.
